Shri Vasu from All India Govansh Sanvardhan Parishad, Delhi
said about the bullock driven tractor, which is efficient, and within
reach of small farmers. If some portion of its cost is subsidized, then
many small farmers may be attracted to bullock tractors. The results are
encouraging. Even women can take up ploughing by bullock tractors. There
is subsidy on diesel and subsidy on tractors. There is no such subsidy on
bullock driven agricultural implements. This policy must be changed. |

Dr. G. S. Yadava from CIAE, Bhopal is at present working on
draught animal power (DAP). He said India has more than 32 breeds having
different characters which need preservation.

Shri Guljarilal Soni spoke about rehabilitation of stray
cattle, which roam on the streets. The Gaushalas should be organized into
training centers. Improved bulls of desired characteristics should be
developed through systematic breeding policy and good bulls should be
supplied to farmers. There should be ‘Goseva Ayog’ in each and every
State and systematic studies on cow should be initiated through cow
research centers. The cow urine should be utilized in shampoos etc. |
In the fourth technical session, Dr. Ranjana the speaker
from Swami Prakashananda Ayervedic Research Centre spoke on fundamental
research on cow urine. The studies are conducted under the auspices of
Ancient Indian and modern Discoveries under the guidance of Dr. Ashok
Vaidya.

Dr. Bharati Joshi spoke about the clinical aspect of cow urine and
its effect on various diseases including cancer. Whey, that is going
waste, can be used for tissue culture.

Dr. Mahesh Sharma spoke about the expectations
from KVIC and need for comprehensive research to meet the competition from
fertilizers and pesticides lobby. The KVIC is thinking of investing huge
money in research and development on bio-pesticide, bio-manure and
training. The KVIC will have to face competition in the sectors of
efficiency, research and quality products. KVIC will give necessary
weightage to quality parameters. Shri Baramatikar, Director KVIC, gave
details of the cow-dung gas plants, bio-slurry, the utility of gas and the
programmes undertaken by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission.
