Shri
Jhomarlal Taori from Durg, Chatisgarh
emphasized the role of farmers in the movement. The agriculturalists of
our country are enlightened. Even after intensive propaganda by the
fertilizer lobby, wrong and short sighted policy of our Govt., that our
farmers are still attached to bullock farming and compost manure. If the slaughter of cow and her progeny is banned, then they
can do miracle. |
Shri Anna Jadhava, Convener of Delhi Goraksha
Satyagraha wanted to launch countrywide protests in front of
slaughterhouses. He appealed to the participants to join Satyagraha as all
other avenues are tried and did not succeed. Now, the only alternative is
mass movement. Indian Parliament is the center where all the policies are
framed, so we should approach each and every Member of Parliament and seek
his support for the Central Law. |
Shri
Satish Narayan spoke about the structural changes required to switch over
to an alternative life-style to bring basic changes in the present
socio-economic-political structure of our society. The present
industrial society is explotative and the object of Satyagraha is to
change the market oriented value-system and evolve an alternative non
exploitative egalitarian society. |
Smt. Hansaben Mazgaonkar, an activist in
Goraksha Satyagraha spoke about her experiences. She narrated the story of
a group of tribal women who took up cow rearing as an economic activity,
which has not only helped them economically but it has a harmonizing
effect on their social relations also. The spirit of mutual cooperation
developed.

Shri Baldeo
Raj, from Narayanpur Bastar, who
devoted more than fifteen years in Deonar Satyagraha spoke about his
experiences. How young and useful bullocks are being slaughtered every day
with the connivance of the Govt. officials. For butchers, it is a free
trade. There is no one to check this illegality. Unless and until total ban on the slaughter of bullocks of
all ages is imposed, one cannot protect them.
